The Brussels Flower Festival features the presence of Ximenez Group and its product Ecogreenlux in one of the city’s main squares
Once again, the center of Brussels has hosted one of its most famous festivals, the Flower Festival, where the main streets of the European capital are adorned with floral decorations, and the iconic flower carpet is laid out in the Grand-Place, next to the Town Hall. In this edition, Ecogreenlux, the product patented and exclusively developed by Ximenez Group, has been one of the festival’s main highlights, decorating one of the primary squares in the historic center of Brussels. Two decorative panels, over 2 meters high and nearly 3 meters wide, designed with floral elements and made from recycled materials, were installed as a “selfie zone” for the Belgian celebration.
The project, designed and manufactured by Ilmex, the international brand of Ximenez Group, for this festival, was presented under the title ‘Vitraux fleuris’ or ‘Floral Stained Glass,’ where two Ecogreenlux panels served as a meeting point and photo backdrop, attracting visitors with their visual appeal and resemblance to an “ecological” stained glass window. This structure plays with transparency and the shine of the sun, thanks to the innovative design of Ecogreenlux. The organizers highlighted “its more sustainable aspect” and “its significant reduction in light pollution”.
Additionally, Ximenez Group decorated another of the main streets in the city center with the ‘Cherry Blossom’ project, featuring backlit cherry blossom curtains, evoking the Land of the Rising Sun.
These installations are part of the ‘Commerces en fleur’ or ‘Shops in Bloom’ event, organized by the Brussels Town Hall as an activity within the Flower Festival, which each year embellishes the streets of the city and decorates the main tourist spots in Brussels, such as the peculiar “flower costume” worn by the Manneken-Pis or the famous flower carpet that adorns the Grand-Place of Brussels every August, attracting thousands of visitors to enjoy a unique decorative event on the continent.
With these two decorative lighting projects, Ximenez Group strengthens its presence in one of Europe’s most important cities, Brussels, where it has been present during the past Christmas season and now also during the summer, through an exclusive and colorful decoration project for its shopping streets.
A Stroll Through the Heart of Brussels
According to the organizers, ‘Commerces en fleur’ offers “a bucolic walk in 17 stages” through the center of Brussels. Each stage, strategically located with the Grand-Place as the central point of the route, features a different decorative project by various artists, with the common theme of being floral elements or structures that simulate and evoke nature, “always respecting the environment and using sustainable products”, according to the festival organizers. This walk concludes with a final stage at the Grand-Place and its “Tapis de Fleurs”, this year created by Belgian artist Océane Cornille.
The Most Sustainable Lighting
Since its debut in 2022, Ecogreenlux has positioned itself in the decorative and artistic lighting market as the most sustainable and environmentally friendly product. This is due to its manufacturing process, which uses recycled and recyclable materials, drastically reduces the use of plastic ties in its construction, and eliminates soldering elements in its production. Additionally, it reduces light pollution by 93% compared to a similar design made traditionally, even with LED lighting, and cuts energy consumption by 60% more than other elements.
